The Blood of The Goddess pours from the Witch Grail, as gnosis is revealed in sacrifice, en-fleshing the Dragon’s bones. The Gates of the Devil’s Throne open within Belial’s Earth for devoted souls of the Trident to feast upon Hecate’s Kalas, ignited in Lucifer’s Flame, as the Great Daughter conjoins with the Body of the Beast to align inner and material planes. This is the dawn of the Apocalyptic Aeon of the Light-bearer – the Age of Revelation.

I feel the deeper I dive into Primal Craft, the tougher it feels for anyone who has not already dived deep into these books. That said, while the previous Altar of Sacrifice focused a lot more on the ritual and spellwork, this focuses a lot more on concepts, history, and practices from times before. While this makes it easier to sit down with, it sometimes is harder to follow if you don't *really* sit down with it. However, this is certainly among Mark's more cohesive works, and I can definitely recommend it. This might require sitting down with, but it's worth sitting down for.
Another masterpiece by Mark Alan Smith. Like his other fabulous tomes, this one throws so much at you at once. But this is done because Mark has much to say and he wants to make sure all his bases are covered, so to speak. You read a few pages, have to stop, and analyze all the information contained in just those small segments. This speaks highly of Mark's work, being able to say so much in such a small window. Not to say that this volume is small. It's not, but compared to what's contained within, you would think it would be monstrous in size.
Phenomenal work on display.
If The Altar of Sacrifice was laying the bones, this book reads and feels like the enfleshment of such. This book is replete with powerful rituals of a similar type to those found in the Altar of Sacrifice which build upon the literal and metaphorical foundations lain by that work.
That said, this book does have a noticeably different feel. The text feels somehow more fluid, which is fitting for the subject matter it covers - probably because of the groundwork done in the previous book.
Out of all the ritual operations detailed, there are two in particular which stand out for me on memory. These are the Sacrificial Rite detailing the work with the Bat, and another channelled rite involving the transmission of power.
The first addresses a very important theurgic ritual with one of witchcrafts most important totemic animals. This alone would give this book immense value for someone following this current. The second, stands as an important look into the practices of Atlantean witchcraft in an incredibly raw and direct manner.
Those who up to this point, have yet to really gel with Smiths description of, and utilisation of, Atlantis material may definitely struggle with the material here, this last rite in particular. For those who bind with such, this ritual gives a very raw and unfiltered look in the technique for passing on power towards the end of an incarnation which is said to come from another time.
Again, like Altar of Sacrifice, it isn't only the rites that are detailed. There is plenty of channelled prophetic material, as well as further clarification on the various roles of the four primarily named Witch-Gods of the current.
I have to say, IMO MAS is the real deal. I didn't always believe that. He will answer any question and is capable of doing so. But there is a lot of blood, blood, blood. I dont agree with this bs but there is power in it for the spiritually immature and physically focused. I challenge anyone to tell me otherwise. No one needs to kill goats or chickens. Killing creates a negative environment. MAS might be a murdering addict.
