A nearly wordless consideration of alchemical theory and practice. Meditations is a limited edition series of linoleum block images – results from and expression of alchemical process and theory. A series of images that started in 1970 and somewhat resolved in 2008-2014.
These images are a stage of what has been a forty-year meditation on the methods of alchemy. What started in a dream has evolved over that time to what is printed here.
These images are a stage of a 16 year meditation on symbol and substance.
These images are the results of a contemplation on change, on transformation.
These images are from an ongoing consideration of what is turning out to be the basic cosmological principles of alchemy. The process for this set of images truly started when, as a child, I would look up at the night sky as if I were looking down on something and felt the need to show what I saw.
