Our new layaway program went live this past weekend. We’ve updated our layaway terms for all new layaways. This is an expansion of one of the most popular features when shopping at Miskatonic Books: 0% interest layaways available on all purchases. You can select to purchase products on a layaway plan on each product page. Simply select to pay in full or pay in 4 payments.
More About Our Layaway Program
Customers can completely manage their current layaways under the Subscription(s) section in your My Account Page. This includes cancelling layaway, updating address and making payments early.
Miskatonic Books does not keep customer payment information on file or in our database. It is stored directly with our credit card processors for enhanced security.
Customers who select ‘Layaway’ as their payment option agree to the terms of Miskatonic Books Layaway plan which is outlined below:
If cancelled, the first payment of all layaways are non-refundable.
Layaways cannot be modified other than paying off the layaway early. No exceptions.
The payment option of layaway will be presented on select products.
Our layaway plans are based on 4 monthly payments. 25% of order +shipping (your first payment) is non-refundable. Refundable amounts older than 30 days can only be issued in points and only upon written request; refundable amounts under 30 days will only be refunded back into the same account they were withdrawn and only upon written request. Requests for points or cash refund (where applicable) must be sent to support@miskatonicbooks.com.
Layaway items will be stored in our warehouse until the layaway order is paid in full.
If a scheduled payment is missed, the order and layaway will automatically be canceled and book(s) will go back into general store inventory and be sold on a first come, first serve basis.
Cancelation of more than two layaways in a year will result in the cancelation of all current layaways as well as the removal of your ability to use the layaway program on future purchases.
Early payoffs are available, by making extra payments directly in your My Account–>Subscriptions Page.
To payoff a layaway early, please go to the Subscriptions page in your account. View layaway and then submit extra payments by clicking on the ‘Make Next Payment Now’ link. This will pay one payment in advance, but will not move up the next payment.
Layaway purchases can only be returned for refund if they are defective and no replacement copies are available.
